"honestly I think 10 grand is steel for one of these"

Zygrene · ▶ 18:08
2 say · critical

"I would say it is almost possible that in equivalent condition E46 is cheaper which once again leaves the E36 in a rather odd position."

Performance

4.0/518 of 18 reviewersconsensus

oh my goodness oh my God good grief this car is Waging War on my senses

positive · ShootingCars · ▶ 7:52

not particularly powerful with just 240 horsepower but the nice thing is very linear torque curve

Zygrene · ▶ 3:28

there's good torque oh yeah this is fun after the head gas good job I think it had a little more power across the band but especially in the mid-range

Handling

4.5/518 of 18 reviewersconsensus

It's hard to convey all the the feedback and communication that I'm getting and how supple this chassis is. This is a pretty bumpy, rough road that we're on right now and it is just eating it up beautifully.

positive · TheTopher · ▶ 3:46

The E36 M3 was also crowned the best handling car in all the land beating a Ferrari f355 an Acura NSX some for super turbo a Dodge Viper GTS Porsche 993 and Porsche Boxer

positive · Hagerty · ▶ 5:22

The handling, the feel is just really nice and it's it's a driver's car before anything else

positive · Drive Steady · ▶ 18:23

honestly I think 10 grand is steel for one of these

positive · Zygrene · ▶ 18:08

I'd say at 10K for the bones of this car, the base, you know, the the car plus the manual transmission, I think that is excellent value.

positive · Jubbal & Cars · ▶ 9:51

The E36 M3 cost just $33,000 more than a 325i and for that small amount of money you get a car that did absolutely everything better it was a bargain

positive · Hagerty · ▶ 5:42
